Hey all, I will be getting married next summer and am currently brainstorming for flower ideas. I think the bridesmaids will wear purple dresses and do purple/light green/white bouquets, but I wanted something a little brighter for my own (adding pink and teal to the mix). Is it acceptable for the bride to have a different colored bouquet from the rest of the bridal party, or will that look tacky?

my girls had white and orange bouquets and i had orange and purple– same flowers- stock and roses. ( girls wore purple gowns) its all bout your taste and visions for your day. do what you want to do

I think it’s perfectly fine! I would chose something that’s similar enough to not clash or looks like it belongs at two different weddings, but I think it’s fine for the bride to stand out. Personally, I’m doing a mostly white bouquet for myself and my bridesmaids are carrying bouquets in my accent color (orange).

I think it’s perfectly fine for your bouquet to be different. You’re the bride and you want to stand out!

I’m having a different bouquet. I’ll have an all purple bouquet of dahlias, lisianthus and Trachelium. Bridesmaids will have baby’s breath. I like the contrast. With the girls wearing all purple I feel the white will better compliment them, and with me in white that pop of colour in my bouquet will look great.

My bridal party wore purple, they had solid white bouquets.
I wore white (ivory) and had a solid purple bouquet

@DJones69: Would you mind sharing a picture or two? This is similar to what I’m thinking and would love to see real life photos!

my BM’s are carrying light purple bouquette, i am carrying all white.
i have seen the opposite done, where BMs carry white and bride carries color.
