I’m having trouble deciding if what I think looks good actually looks good! I’m having my bridesmaids wear navy. I want them in short dresses (right above the knee), but my MOH wants to wear a long dress. What are your thoughts on mixing these two things? The MOH will be the only one in a long dress, but it will be the same material as the shorter dresses. For some reason I have never been to a wedding where they did this. Thoughts??

I think it would kind of throw off the look of the wedding party with a long dress mixed with a short dress. Maybe she can stand out by adding some sparkle to her dress?
btw, My BMs are in navy, too ;}

I have no idea how to upload a picture from my phone, but I save a photo from somewhere, here or another site because I loved the brides color scheme. The bridesmaids all have the same color and material dress, but they all have different designs, some being long and some short, I think it was done really well!

I don’t have a problem with mixing and matching dresses (long/short or style/colour) but I don’t like this trend of the MOH wearing a totally different dress to the other bridesmaids so she stands out. It’s not her day, I see no reason why she shoud be dressed to stand out. I find it a little odd to be honest.

It’s gonna look totally weird if your MOH wears a long dress and all your bridesmaids are in cocktail length dresses. But don’t worry. She obviously wants to stand out in your ceremony, and there are tons of creative ways to do that.
Agree with the poster who mentioned sparkle–maybe she can wear a jeweled sash that matches the color of the dress, or a sash in a contrasting color? Your dress vendor should be able to hook you up. You could give her a distinctive MOH gift of jewelry that’sdifferent from your gift to the other bridesmaids.
