I have a HUGE bridal party (8-BM’s & 8-GM’s) instead of all 8 of the girls wearing the same dress..I decided to let them pick out their own dresses from David’s Bridal, in the same color – which would be GUAVA.
Would you say this is trendy..or tacky?

we are doing something like this too! I like it! 🙂

We dont encourage the use of the “T-A word” around here! =)
But I love it! I think as long as the materials stay the same and the length, they look great! =)
**I agree that its neither tacky nor trendy, it just personalized and stylish!

I don’t think its niether trendy or tacky its just what your vision is or what you feel more comfortable doing.

Its definitely not tacky. I like the idea as long as they are all the same material and color.

Why does it have to be one or the other? They look cute together.

I love the different looks – I don’t even care if they’re the same material.

I’m doing this too but in watermelon. All the dresses will be chiffon and knee length so hopefully it’ll blend together nicely.

I was just in a wedding in Oct and the bride let us each pick our own dress from DB in the color fern. IT WAS AMAZING. Some of us actually picked the same dress! I was thrilled because I am ACTUALLY going to wear the dress again. It’s something I am planning on doing as well. It’s smart, trendy and everyone is happy.

Thanks Ladies – My “Momzilla” was NOT happy about this idea. She called it tacky, trashy, and threw a fit!
BRIDEZILLA moment: First of all…who’s wedding is it anyways…right, its MY wedding. Second of all, my BM’s are paying for their own dress, so why should it matter to my momzilla? UGHHHHH….love it! They JOYS of planning a wedding and having your mom bash your dreams.

I think it’s a cute idea. I’m not doing it because I like everything to match, but I love seeing it in photos.

I did it for my wedding and it was perfect. I picked Pewter from DB and long, other than that they could pick whatever they wanted. They all looked amazing and felt comfortable. Its hard to pick one dress to match all shapes and sizes so this way everyone looks their best and our wedding was gorgeous.

I am doing this idea, but my only caveat is I am picking the fabric type and length. So I am picking a color, and they can get any chiffon, knee-length dress from that line. It’s just a pet peeve of mine, I feel like the same color looks different on different fabrics. But none of my BM’s seem to care, especially since I picked chiffon which is light and much more wearable for after the wedding!

When a bridesmaid, I love this idea. There are few dresses so magical that they look good on every body type, so it is nice to have the option to choose the dress you feel best in.
