Next time, try peeing in a disposable cup, that way you can time it better. I've never had this happen, but I always used a cup.
I just took one the other day and I peed in a cup, and you hold the stick in it for 20 seconds. I got the hourglass right away. If you pee directly on it, it's only for 5 seconds. It's totally possible that you didn't pee long enough, or you peed too much on it - it says right in the directions that if you don't get the hourglass then the test is faulty. Try another!
yeah, you probably didnt pee on it enough. If the urine sample doesnt make it all the way up into the testing area, you wont get the hourglass (unless the test was faulty. Usually youll get a weird message if it is though.) I also went with the "dip in a cup" method =o)
I was too lazy for the cup and just peed directly on to it (plus I couldn't figure out an entirely sanitary way to do it without getting a dixie cup, and I was too eager to test to put it off until after a trip to the grocery store). Since I was worked up, I tried to keep it in the stream for about 10 seconds just to be sure it got enough. Though since I was worked up, I wasn't counting seconds all that well and it was probably more like 6-7 seconds. It worked just fine for me-- hourglass, then "pregnant." Anyway, if you don't get the hourglass at all, it probably means the test was no good.
Found a disposable cup - test ran and got a BFN. Now I'll just wait to see if AF arrives on Friday as planned. Oh well - guess I'll go get a treat at Starbucks and some new shoes today as a consolation prize . . .

Pregnancy test first timer here. So, this morning I decided to give the digital Clear Blue Easy a try. I followed the instructions and tried to pee on the stick for 5 seconds. But then I didn't get the little hourglass saying the test was working. Is it possible I just didn't pee enough?
Anyone else have similar issues with this test and any ideas on how to not make the same mistake when I give it another try tomorrow?
(also, I'm slightly amazed that I made it through my 20s without ever having to take one of these . . .)
