South Street is a magical memory for me.  It was a cold night and I was super hungry and with my best friend and it was too late for anything to be open…so we drove to the South Street diner and there was parking (since it was late) and it had just began to snow and the Christmas lights were all still up.  Seriously, it couldn’t have been better had it been in a movie!

That said, I have been back and it wasn’t quite as magical..but still…a diner 🙂

I’ve been told there are only two actual 24 hour diners within the city (My fiance is from Jersey and says they are only true diners if they are open 24 hours), South Street and another I can’t remember, which will drive me crazy! Near the city, I like going to the 50’s diner in Dedham. I love going for breakfast and getting the 50’s special platter with a chocolate frappe. Yumm! I was there this Sunday! And it is not a "real" diner, since it closes at 3:00.

ok might not be diner food, but steves and trident cafe are really great spots for some greasy breakfast food.

Mr. Toucan says Deluxe Town Diner in Watertown is really good. Been meaning to go there myself, but I just haven’t made it there yet.

Oh my gosh – Town Diner in Watertown IS amazing!!  I used to work right there and wow my mouth is watering for their tuna melt!

Cabots in Newton is also great, don’t know if I’d call it a diner, but their ice cream is awesome!

Another non-diner, diner is Jim’s Deli in Brighton.

yummmy … why are we all talking about food so much, I’m starving.

Do any of you watch Phantom Gourmet? They always have episodes with things like this and I always want to try them, but rarely do.

Phantom Gourmet is the best. We watch his show all the time but also rarely go to any of the places mentioned.

We’ve been to Rosebud’s in Davis.  Not delicious, but serviceable.  I’m going to have to check out South St. and Deluxe.

Ladies! You are all making me so hungry! I haven’t been to any "diners" but a great brunch restaurant is S&S restaurant in Somerville! I also LOVE Phantom Gourmet – it’s a Saturday AM staple
