Here's my favorite restaurants:
Italian: Cafe Fiore is quiet and romantic; one of my favorite "nicer" restaurants in South Lake Tahoe. Fasta Pasta is cheap and authentic, and definitely a locals' favorite.
Chinese: Mandarin Garden
Thai: Orchids is a staple, but this new place just opened up called Nakorn Thai, and it's pretty good, too.
Greek: Cafe Artemis is my new favorite restaurant. I ate there like 3 times a week when I was pregnant. :)
Burgers: I prefer Izzie's Burger Spa, but most locals swear by The Burger Lounge.
Breakfast/Lunch: The Getaway Cafe is small, cute, and tasty. Plus, their staff is so sweet and friendly. I also love The Blue Angel Cafe for lunch; they have great food, and fresh made potato chips and sweet potato fries.
California Cuisine: Sprouts is all organic, mostly vegetarian, and the perfect place for lunch. Nephele's is a "finer" dining place with great California cuisine, awesome for dinner. And my favorite restaurant in all of South Lake Tahoe is The Blue Water Bistro. It is literally on the water with the best views anywhere on the lake. Plus, the food is absolutely fantastic and service has always been great.
For drinks, we never go to the casinos; honestly, I don't know of anyone who goes to the casinos to drink because it's so expensive. We usually go to Brothers Bar, the Rockwater, or Divided Sky.
Thank you so much!!! How is the new baby?!?! How are you doing? You are so sweet to help me out once again. We'll be in Tahoe in less than two weeks, and I'm soooo excited! I texted everyone in my phone book to watch the celebrity golf tournament at Edgewood so they know where our reception is. Hahaha!

Hello Bees! I'm less than 30 days away from our wedding in Lake Tahoe (eeeeek!!!), and I'm just finishing up our OOT bags. I wanted to include a list of suggested places to eat, preferably non-tourist traps in our Welcome Handouts.
During out brief visit to South Lake Tahoe, we ate at Big Daddy's Burgers,which was pretty awesome, but we didn't get to indulge in any other local favorites. I would really appreciate any recommendations of where to eat: casual, formal, different cuisines, sushi, etc.
Also, where do most of the locals go for a drink on the weekends? Is there a certain bar or do most go to the casinos?
