So at our venue, we can select two main entree choices out of an extensive list of choices and one starch out of another somewhat extensive list for our buffet dinner. Also included are the veg of the day, garden salad with several dressings, warm rolls/butter, our cut and plated wedding cake, and coffee and tea, all for $30.95/pp. Awesome price in our book.
For 75 people, do you think that’s enough in terms of options? Or would you add a third entree choice on for an additional $2.50/pp (another $187.50) and another starch for an additional $1.25/pp (another $93.75)?
I should say that we’re not trying to cheap out my any means — we’re doing cheese and fruit stations as well as two passed h’ors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour, and close to full-night open bar (shutting it off an hour before the end and limiting to call drinks). But we’re watching our money, as the whole shindig is pretty much on us.

I think 2 entrees choices is fine but it would be nice to have the two starch options as well. Since its only another $100, I’d do the 2nd starch

@Glasgowbound: Thanks — that’s what I’m slightly leaning towards, too. We’re definitely going to do the mashed potatoes because they’re OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious, but it would be nice to have a lighter choice like rice pilaf available as well.

I think two entrees is plenty (plus, the more choices you give people the more they eat!), and honestly I think one starch is fine, but if you want to add something, add a starch.

I agree with adding the starch. Two entrees is good enough.

I’m in agreeance- two entrees are fine, another starch would be nice but not absolutely necessary

I agree with the others on two starches and also have a firm decision on the veggie, not a “veg of the day” because you should know what everything is the day of, not some surprise mix. Im sure it’s just zuchini or something but still, discuss it and know what it’s going to be.

The 2 entrees and 1 starch sounds fine to me
