I was in the middle of making dinner – beef and broccoli, yum! – and I was chopping up onions and garlic. Well, I guess I nicked myself with the knife because after I dump the onions into the pan I realize my hand is bleeding. I cut straight across two fingers without feeling it and while I was stirring in the onions, I bled into my food. And not even a drop or two, I’m talking about full-on gushing blood into the pan 🙁
Seeing as how I’m not a vampire and don’t particularly like to serve blood to people, guess I have to start all over. Except, I can’t. That was the last of the beef !!
Blah…. Guess it’s mac and cheese instead.

That is awful 🙁
I hope you are going to be okay!
Do think you need stitches?

I hate that! One time I was baking and really confused as to why my cupcake batter has pinkish streaks… well… apparently I cut myself on some mysterious blade and it didn’t hurt until I saw it… of course. So, You are not alone!

@noritake22: Oh no, definitely not. It’s not a deep cut, just long. I’m just a bleeder 😛

@Gingersnap: It is good that you won’t need stitches. I am also a bleeder. It will probably hurt for a while though; now that you know about it. I hope it heals fast 🙂

2 weeks ago I sliced my fingertip off on my mandoline. It didnt hurt but I am now missing a piece of my finger and had to go to the emergency room 🙂 I was making a fritatta for FH’s work. The pink potatoes didnt make it 🙂

Heh – this reminds me of what my dad always used to say if a bug landed on our food. “Oh well! Extra protein!” 😉
Hope your finger feels better soon!
