@arlr106:  My fiance (who is from the DC area) suggests the Occidental Grill.

Do you have a budget in mind and/or a location?

In the city I’d pick Old Ebbett Grill (a classic that never disappoints); Cuba Libre (relatively new, has quite the buzz about it, great food and nice atmosphere although it can get pretty festive late at night); the Capitol Grille (old school elegant steakhouse) or Tony and Joe’s in Georgetown (seafood, small menu but lots of specials, great view of the water). All have private rooms to accommodate you.

Northern Virginia is pretty huge sp if you narrow it down at least to a city, you’ll get suggestions!

It’s a little pricey, but Restaurant 2941 is IMMACULATE! The food there is amazing and the decor is very chic and modern.
