I doubt it, but I would check your contract to be sure.

@orchidaloha:  It depends on the conract and how many hours they are working usually. Typically if it’s anything over 6 hours a meal has to be provided. But say they are finished shooting and there is still over an hour until dinner is served, they likely won’t want to stick around to eat anyways!

@orchidaloha:  I would say no… If they are not staying during the reception, there likely isn’t going to be time for them to eat anyway.  It sounds like you probably have booked a shorter amount of time as well.  If you’re only having 3-4 hours and not having them there during a dinner, you don’t need to provide anything IMO, but you should check and see if your contract says anything about feeding them.  If not, I wouldn’t worry about it at all.  If it does, you can check with the photog and see if it still applies in your case.

As a photographer… I’d just want to get out of there haahha. Shooting a wedding is stressful, even if it’s only 4 hours! It’s super nice of you to think of them in the first place, so I’d ask just to make sure!

It will likely say in the contract.  My photog specified light meal for 4+ hours, full meal for 6+ hours.  It sounds like you will be getting something akin to an elopement package (2-3 hrs) which generally do not involve meals.

I wouldn’t think so.

Ours is providing a “boxed meal” for our vendors at a much cheaper price than the full dinner for the guests.  I told my photographer I was providing her a meal and she was so gracious and thankful for including her but she said she usually doesn’t eat while she works.  But it would be a nice gesture to offer them something.

I would just ask them – we fed all our vendors what we were eating, and I think it’s typically a nice thing to offer, but with 4 hours they may just prefer to go home or out to eat afterwards. Then again, if it’s a wedding they have to travel an hour or so to get to, it might be nice to offer to feed them.

Edited to add: I think the vendor meals are kind of rough, from what I’ve read here on the Bee. Seems like they’re usually sandwiches or something not so great.

I’d say no. They’d probably rather head home!
