Find out exactly what the material is, then buy some from a fabric store and try to dye it.  Some will dye and some won’t, or won’t look the way you want.  Good luck!

@Kissed_by_lightning:  I’ve even seen hand painted dye (like with a brush) on the bottom of the dress to follow the curves of the ruffles.  Those dresses would look amazing like that but you would definitely need to practice first…a lot!

In general, synthetic fabrics won’t dye. You’ll also need to have enough scrap so you can test it first.
