We’re having a wedding where all the guests are having to travel to attend. I’ve decided to make small cards with directions to the reception, so no one gets lost after the ceremony.
Should I include the cards with the invitations and send them out together or should I just have the cards at the ceremony for everyone to pick up then?
I’m a little worried that the guests may forget them at home if I mail them with the invitations.
Which option are you doing or which one would you think would work out better?

I would include them in the invitations, because people might not see them/notice them at the ceremony as there will be lots of chit-chat and whatnot after the ceremony/while you are leaving etc which will make it easy for the guests to be distracted.
Even if you put them in/with the programs that is no guarantee that every guest will get one.
eta: I’ll be putting mine in the invites because I am fairly certain that those who will need them will be sure to bring them lest they be lost and miss the merriment!

i would put them in the invitations. i agree that people might not notice them at the ceremony, but you could always get free postcards from vistaprint and have additional direction cards available at the ceremony in case people forget them.

I plan to include mine in the invitation and then hopefully include a smaller version in the back of the program. About half of our guests will have no problems getting from the ceremony to the reception and the other half will probably follow, but I want to be prepared just in case since the reception is pretty much in a field.

That’s what I was thinking. I’ll probably just print some extras in case people forget.

Why not make a map with for the directions. You can include fun points of interest.
