Does anyone have DirecTV? Do you lose signal when the weather is bad? i know, totally unrelated to weddings, just thought i'd see if anyone had any input....

The only time we lose a signal is when it is REALLY windy or during a bad thunderstorm.  Normally, in rain or snow it does not affect it at all, but it could also depend on location.

I LOVE out DirectTV!!!!   I would never go back--and for the last year, we haven't had one problem with the weather yet.  But I do hear lots of stories of people who have these problems.

We do tend to lose reception in heavy rain...but we surprisingly did not lose it at all during all of the DC blizzards this winter!

hmm... well, i live in Houston, TX and we get a lot of crazy weather down here. I'd just hate to sign that 2 year agreement and have the signal go out every time we get a thunderstorm ... hmmm.. what to do? what to do??

I only have a problem when it is really bad, but that is rare. My parents have cable and theirs go out more than my satellite.

I think you will get weather issues with any satellite though. We had Dish Network initially and it SUCKED for us. We went with DirecTV and have had way less issues. Still have issues don't get me wrong. It is satellite it will be affected by weather. But way less technical and weather related issues with DirecTV than we did with Dish. For us at least.

If you really want to escape weather related issues you'll have to go cable.
