That’s not acceptable at all. The sets I have so far do not have any flaws. I think it was likely an error and I would have them replaced. I have Marchesa by Lenox…

I had a problem with mine (Royal Doulton).  It wasn’t centered, and there were small areas where the pattern or platinum band wasn’t applied.  It was also discontinued so I returned it all.

We had the same issue with our Crown Derby china – I was completely surprised by how inconsistent the quality was. The banding on the plates had small imperfections, and the main thing was that the hugely expensive covered vegetable dish had a crooked handle. We took all of it back and the shop was happy to exchange it all for us – we got new plates that are perfect. The new covered vegetable had a warped lid though, that didn’t fit onto the bottom piece, so we had to exchange that a SECOND time, by which point I felt like a psychotic customer from hell. It was all worth it in the end though, all of it is perfect now 🙂

For that price, you deserve a far higher quality. Definitely take the defective items back to BB&B and insist on opening any boxes/inspecting any pieces before you take them home. I’m sorry you’re having trouble with it! Lenox china is usually so beautifully designed + executed.

Do they do ship to store? So you could inspect them in store, then have them return right there if they’re not satisfactory?

I’d give it one more shot through BB&B, but if that doesn’t work, contact Lennox directly.  They are a reputable company, which leads me to believe that after 2 (potentially) sets of mistakes, they’d bend over backwards to make it right.

I’d return it and choose a different pattern! FWIW, not all Lenox is like that. Our $50 per place setting Lenox pattern, Moonlit Garden, is perfect.

I’m so sorry that happened to you! Your china should be perfect right out of the box, especially from a company like Lenox. Would you mind sharing what pattern it is that seems to be off? My favorite pattern so far is a Lenox one and I’m curious to see if I should find something similar from a different company.
