@SoontobeMrsFisette:  Your wedding is not going to be a disaster.  🙂  You have 9 months to pay for the whole thing.  I’m sure it will be lovely!

Is there anything specific you are worried about?

I have been having a nightmare about every two weeks or so about mine, so you’re definitely not alone.

But if it makes you feel any better, I’ve only been to like two weddings that sucked. One was over 100 degrees for an outdoor wedding where the bride showed up about an hour late and then took pics while the guests smothered in the humidity, and the other had a gimme-pig bride who asked for money numerous times, took an hour and a half for after ceremony pics (with no alcohol or snacks for the hungry guests) ran out of food, had a coordinator who yelled at the little kids for opening the bubbles early (when they had literally nothing to do besides that) and did a fake-out with the cake cutting.

So basically, if you take care of your guests, it will be good. Not guaranteeing you won’t still be disappointed about a couple things, but your guests will almost certainly enjoy the event.

@SoontobeMrsFisette:  It’s normal, I had my freak out at 6 months and again at 4 months, and again at 1 month 🙂 My wedding turned out awesome, way better than I thought

My best advise is make a decision and move forward. It’s only one day of your life. I’m not saying don’t prepare and be organized but stressing about all of this will only make you crazy. What’s most important is that you and FI end up married at the end of the day.

I did a lot of DIY decor and the day-of I barely noticed any of it. What I remember most is the ceremony and professing our love to eachother, eating the delicious food, and dancing with my hubby and friends.

Everything will be fine. Seriously. Don’t let it overwhelm you. The best advice I can give is to CARE LESS. Seriously. Who cares if it doesn’t look like the wedding you see on blogs or in magazines. My mantra was that if, at the end of the day, we were married and nobody died, then it was a successful day. The rest is fluff.

As for the bridesmaids dresses – let them pick their own! It’s way easier. Give them some guidelines (I told my girls yellow, knee length, no shiny fabric) and let them get whatever they want.

@SoontobeMrsFisette:  I agree with PP regarding bridesmaid dresses.  Let them pick their own.  It will save you SO MUCH stress.

Where are you getting your flowers from?  Are you going to the flower mart in LA?  Don’t stress about this.  Flowers are stunningly easy to do.  For my first wedding, it took maybe 3 hours to do all the flowers.  My best friend got married a month ago, and we did her centerpiece flowers.  It took maybe an hour for about 30 centerpieces.  APW has some good posts on DIY wedding flowers.

Maybe step back and think about what you two want for your wedding.  Do what you guys want to do, and who cares if ___ doesn’t like ___?  It’s not their wedding.  🙂

@SoontobeMrsFisette:  I’ve seen GORGEOUS weddings by a lake under a tree! Have you considered renting out a beautiful park for a few hours. The parks here all cost the same: $2.00 an hour….yep that’s right $2.00 an hour! …and there are some really beautiful parks here! I would see if your city/town offers that. That way you can just focus on the reception and food, and even that part, I’m sure there’s bargains to be had. Don’t worry (I know it’s cliche LOL), but it really will be one of the most unforgettable moments of your life. 🙂
