I purchased my gown in August, and come to find out it was discontinued a whole year before that. (Maggie Sottero Marleigh) The bridal consultant took my measurements and said that the factory will make the dress according to my measurements. I paid the deposit and went on my way…
Less than 2 months I went back to the shop for bridesmaids dresses and asked to see my dress because I was having a few regrets. The bridal consultant instantly said that “she thinks my dress was sold as a sample to a bride that was in a panic” She went to check, and sure enough she “sold it”
If a dress was discontinued over a year ago… how is the factory still going to make it? I have called around to all other authorized dealers, and they have all stated that they can’t get the dress because it was discontinued so long ago. I dont know what to do.. I want to make sure I have all my facts right before I call my actual bridal salon because I am not sure they are being totally honest with me.

Sometimes after things are discontinued the warehouse/manufacturer still has stock on hand so you can still get it even after its been officially discontinued.
That said, over a year later would make me skeptical. Is there any way you can contact who they’re getting the dress from and make sure its actually being made for you?

It would be very bad for their business reputation to not be able to get your dress so I doubt they would lie to you. Have they given you a date for when the dress is due in? You could always ring the design house as well and say you have an order but are having trouble with the salon where you ordered it and just wanted to check that the order had indeed been placed.

At first I was told March, but now I am told January. I have tried calling Maggie Sottero and they said they can not speak to me because I am a customer and not a retailer. I explained the situation to the operator and she said to call an authorized dealer.
Maybe I will try that route and verify that my order has been placed. Thank you!
