Check out Pearl's Place (www.pearlsplace.com). They're based outside of New Orleans, and sell the actual designer gowns -- but at discounted, wholesale prices.
Another good option is the Marisa line -- soooo many replicas of popular styles (like Miss Kitten's dress, the Melissa Sweet Lia)!
Whatever you do, beware of Perimart. I have heard TERRIBLE stories about them, and also check out their customer ratings on their own site. It is not pretty.
Back in June and July, I was all over these boards proclaiming that I was going to order from Peridress. Then I got really nervous. Then I called Pearl's Place and got my actual dress for what half of what the bridal store wanted, and ~$150 less than House of Brides. It was still a few hundred more than Peridress, but with no worried feeling in the pit of my stomach :)
I ordered from Jeff Liu via ebay - it was a copy of a dress - made in China. I had a good experience.
However, give yourself lots of time. I orderd 8+ months b/f the wedding so that if it turned out horrible, I still had time to sort it out.
I saved $1000+
I recommend Topbridal, although the dresses from there are replicas, they are of good quality and the service is great!
They offer the BestPrice every customer dreamed of!
I also think Topbridaldresses.com is not bad, the dresses are more beautiful than the customers can expect!
Hmmmm I walked briefly down that road with peridress. Disaster! So cheaply made the buttons were popping off and the ruffles coming undone with the first try on. It looked great from about 20 feet away, but any closer it was ghastly. Happily it ended up being the star of our picnic the night before the wedding as a sort of glass slipper for bridesmaid try-outs. All of my cousins tried it on and strutted around but none of them actually showed up in it the next day.
I ordered from Dressilyme and had a wonderful experience. They have hte equipment needed to create excellent gowns with beautiful material.
I don't agree with others recommendation for Jeff Liu if the dress is complicated. I have seen some beatufiul satin gowns from this company. I also don't vouch for them adding the proper lining or boning in the gown.
Dressilyme made the dress with all the necessary elements I needed to form the fit perfectly as well as a built in bra.

I've been browsing around for dresses and have discovered several sites that sell replica dresses for ridiculously cheap prices such peridress.com, buyer100.com, and topbridaldress.com. Has anyone ordered from a discount replica type site like this? What was the quality of your dress like? Did you have any problems with shipping times, mess ups on the size/color/etc, customer service? If you did order, I'd love to see pictures. I'm a little wary of the discounted dress option considering, well, it's my wedding dress for heaven's sake! :) I just want a little honest-bee feedback that I've come to know and love!
