I’ve been working on paper flower centerpieces for months now but everyone who sees them doesn’t seem to like them. They say there “interesting” which in my family is code for they don’t like they just don’t want to tell you. I used to really love them and now I’m not sure.

@Sassy9226: Do you have a pic? Bees have used paper flowers and they were gorgeous.
Many people just aren’t used to the idea of using anything other then fresh flowers for centerpieces.

Not sure I can help, but this was my biggest issue and stress. Then it hit me, I can’t even remember anyones elses centerpieces. I was crying because everytime I came up with something my sister would say well maybe if we do this it would look better. If you like them use them but try and maybe add stuff to it to make it look “better.” Would you mind sharing the pic, I will give you an honest opinion.

Cute! Those are beautiful!!! Your family isnt lying… they are interesting, because they probably have never seen such before!
Youve definitely got a lot of talent and patience! I say forge on and continue with the flowers!

What table cloths/runners/overlays will you be using with these?
Yeah, it’s black tablecloths with sheer silver overlays, I’m also going to put some of that gel filler stuff in to hold them in place better, but I can’t do that till right before

Very pretty.I made paper flowers too and my mom told me they are not suitable for a wedding. She said A bridal shower or party, perhaps. But Definitly not a wedding…I stopped showing people the things I make.If you like them that’s all that matters.good luck!

I think they look amazing! Who cares what others say..just dont show anymore people and let them see it on the big day

Wow! You are truly talented…this is really nice. My family does the same thing, especially if they are not used to something. I think you should continue with the project. Don’t get discouraged. How does FI like them?

I don’t think they look bad. They are certainly different! Like PP mentioned — who remembers centerpieces? If you like them, that’s all that matters. If they fit with your venue/theme, they’ll look great on the big day. Don’t stress.

@Sassy9226: I think they look great! yay canadian brides 🙂 And I love that you’ll be using black/silver linens (we’re doing that for ours too… but we didn’t rent them, we bought ours.. still deciding if that’s a good idea). Do you have any pointers for people trying to do paper centrepieces?
