I absolutely love Vera Wang Bridal designs! She constantly comes up with beautiful gowns year after year. I find that most of her designs are timeless and can be wearable regardless of the decade. I have a special place in my heart for her designs from 2011-2013 because they are so imaginative and bluntly bridal. However in recent years, her gowns seem to be more stream-lined, simple, and less volumized. She plays with color (all the gowns can come in white/ivory) and accents more – still equally gorgeous as previous designs and fun to look at.
So my question for bees is: if you didn’t know when the collections came out, which collections appeals to you more today? Why?

Also if bees want to share their VW dresses here, please do!

I prefer 2011-2013 for sure! The dresses have more texture and more layers, which I’m crazy about.

I really hate the stylistic/hair/make up choices in the pictures for the most recent collection. Heroin chic may work for some couture lines, but not for wedding dresses. And in some of the pictures you really can’t appreciate the dresses because of the positioning. I’m sure they’re lovely in real life but those pictures are awful.

I like the Classics Collection, but not necessarily the newer collections. I agree that Vera Wang has some beautiful, truly timeless gowns, but she also goes modern and funky too. Something for everyone.

Kazza: Agreed! I love the extra lift and details. Weddings are such a big day, avoid simple if you can!
aliciaspinnet: I hear you on the styling/look of the models. Druggie chic is a no no. Sadly when I was first shopping for wedding gowns, I breezed thru the Vera Wang website and nothing caught my eye because all I could look at were the ghostly models. Such a shame because the dresses are so beautiful in person and even more stunning on real women!
jamb: She’s getting more funky these days. I’m excited to see how her designs evolve in the years to come
Any brides out there who have a dress from the newer collections? I would love to see how they look on you! 🙂
