I use both tea towels and hand towels.  I have quite a few from dollar stores.  I’ve also recieved some as gifts, and have picked some up from Superstore.

@Ice_cream:  You listed peach twice 😉 I’m not picky about dish towels because no matter what I buy DH destroys them by using them to whipe up things they’re not really meant for or using them to clean with bleach.  He also does not understand the difference between a dish rag and a dish towel, so sometimes I’ll see the whole dish towel in the sink :-/

I’m no help, because I just discovered flour sack towels, and  love them. They make me hate my other tea towels. USELESS!

I don’t care that they’re ugly! Their functionality makes me think they are so beautiful hanging in my kitchen 🙂

I use a pretty one for the oven door, and a bunch of ugly utility rags under the sink!

@BrandNewBride:  me too!! I love the shop rags but you have to wash them in a separate load before you use them or they turn everything pink 🙂

All of my dish towels are hand-me-downs! I find that the ones that have been washed a million times are the softest and most absorbent.

Also, my favorite fruit is blueberries. I could eat a whole 2lb bucket of them in one sitting, I swear.

My favorite are the microfiber ones from Pampered Chef. They dry dishes better than anything else.

I air dry my dishes (I’m too lazy, and also I heard that you can transfer bacteria from the dish towel to the clean dish), so I only care about whether they match my kitchen or not.

@Ice_cream:  I didn’t pick star fruit cuz the poll said not to, but what’s wrong with it?

Mine are all from Crate and Barrel.  I love all of their dish towels – real towels or flour sacks.
