@JerNCher:  haha i have had that a couple times where i dressed up and SO was in jeans or basketball shorts haha.

eh what are you gonna do? At first you feel a little silly, but as long as he thinks you look great – who cares? That is just how our styles are.

I hope you guys have a nice lunch!

I fail to see the issue here. You’re going to pout and “not even want to go” because he’s wearing a sweater and dress pants? Who cares about his shoes?! I’d be more focused on being happy to have date night. I’m working late on the only night I have an opportunity to have a date with my husband. I’d kill for date night, sneakers or not.

@JerNCher:  Why didn’t you tell him to change into something that you would have like to see him in?

This happened to me on New Years. We went to this amazing party for the holiday, and it was formal cocktail attire. I was totally rocking this stunning, vintage black gown from the 60’s….deep low vcut and amazing slit up the center…..seriously looked fantastic.

What does he wear? Jeans and a black t-shirt with his “nice shoes”. Yep.

Whatever…we had a great time, and I think he even felt a little guilty when so many people complimented me 🙂

@JerNCher:  I had this issue with the opera I went to this summer. I rented a cocktail dress from Rent the Runway, and he wore jeans, grey tshirt, and a sports jacket. Ugh. Thankfully, his brother ragged on him for not getting more dressed up.

Wear it! Post a picture here, I want to see this dress! 🙂

@JerNCher:  Ya this is way overreacting. Sounds like what he planned was sweet and he was excited.

Is this a real post?!

I also fail to see the problem here? And are you 12? Punch him in the face later because he thinks you look beautiful in the dress you bought and because he took you out for a nice dinner?

I don’t think it’s that serious.

What’s the issue here? You can’t bare to be seen with a fiancé who is *GASP* wearing sneakers?

Wow. That sounds horrible…the love of your life, dressed in a sweater, black pants, and sneakers, taking you on a fancy dinner date for Valentine’s Day?

He sounds pretty awful.

@megz06:  +1!

I totally agree! How could you possibly even consider marrying someone who who plans special date nights! I would break up with him ASAP and live a life with a bunch if cats… Alone and sad!
