That is so uncalled for. My boss once was trying to make small talk with me and asked if my FI and I are related because we're both chinese. WTF.

@Dub D:How did you respond to your boss? I probably would have said something along the lines of I don't let my personal life interfere with my work life. I'm sorry that I made a mistake; I won't do it again.

Not too long ago, my boss recently found out that I'm engaged and subsequently, when I made a simple mistake, he called me to his office and said, "I don't know what you're thinking when you did this. Maybe you're just distracted because you're getting married."
I found it mean and uncalled for because when my male co-worker made the same mistake, he was calm and nice about it. I'm slowly getting tired of this double standard.
