I noticed during my ceremony that my photographer's cameras were really loud! It was like the paparazzi was snapping away. It didn't really bother me because, well, nothing bothered me on the day, but I did look away from my fiance-becoming husband for a minute at them and thought "SHHOOOOSH!" I don't know if its because it was a small number of people so they didn't buffer the noise or if it's always like that but wow, it was loud. You can hear it on the video a guest took as well - snap snap snap!

Did anyone else notice that during their ceremony?

I don't think there's really any way we can control the shutter noises of our cameras... =)

I wasn't taking a stab at photographers or suggesting they did anything wrong, I loved mine. I just have never heard anyone mention the noise being distracting before and have never noticed the photographers at other weddings I have been to so I don't know if I was super sensitive to it or if ours were extra loud. Our guests actually laughed about how loud it was too.

Haha, I know, I didn't think you were taking a stab, I was just explaining that there was no way to buffer the noise.

I've been to weddings where it can be distracting - usually because these photogs are standing closer to the crowd (this can happen in indoor ceremonies where the high-power zoom lenses don't do as well in the low light and flash is not allowed). If they were really far out in the back and using zoom lenses then obviously they'd be less noticeable.

I've thought about how this will be on my wedding day. Between photography and videography, I hope it doesn't feel like I'm on a reality show or something LOL.

That does stink.  I am worried about that as well because our church is big and has tiled floors so it echos a lot.

I kinda like how my shutter sounds.  But there really isn't a way for photographers to muffle the sound.  :(

Some cameras have a fake shutter sound in addition to the real one-it's in the settings that you have to turn off.
