I only drink the mini half cans of coke when I get a migraine, so maybe once or twice a month. Other than that I don’t even drink soda.

Too much of any one thing (especially a drug like caffeine) will probably kill you.  Not surprised.

Thats just gross! Coke is sooo bad for you! The only kind of pop I drink is a small glass of gingerale here and there and its usually just to settle my stomach

I mean really? Doesn’t everyone know that Coke can actually disintegrate a flipping penny over time… imagine what it does to your body. I do enjoy one every so often but 2.5 gallons a FLIPPING DAY!

I rarely drink regular soda (only if it’s the only thing being served), but I average 3-4 diet cokes a week.  It’s a sad story, but is it really a surprise that drinking 2 gallons of soda a day is going to be an issue?

@beachbride1216:  +1  People have died from drinking too much water.

I don’t drink much coke.  Sometimes when I want some caffeine in a cold drink and also for rum & coke.

More and more articles are stating that Pop / Soda is not incredibly healthy (this in light that those particularly in the USA drink per capita tons of the stuff… with the average US Citizen drinking 45 Gallons per year = http://www.everyday-wisdom.com/soft-drink-consumption.html )

*45 Gallons is the AVERAGE… read the article to see the stunning amounts that MANY Americans drink daily / annually

Beyond the sugar factor, there are elements in Pop that wreck havoc with internal organs like the Liver, Kidneys, Gall Bladder and Pancreas

And Pop has certainly been a contributing factor they say to the uprise in Pancreatic Cancers (statiscally the highest growth in new cancers in the USA annually).

And the gosh-awful thing with Pancreatic Cancer, is generally by the time you figure out you’ve got it you are a gonner (Stage III or Stage IV) with a very short life-span after diagnosis and the survival rate at 5 years out is less than 5%

I don’t drink much pop at all… maybe one a week.  Usually less.  I just don’t find it to be “all that”… and it doesn’t really satisfy my thirst / is refreshing.

Lol, I am a tea granny… that is where I get my caffeine kick from !!

Mr TTR drinks a “moderate” amount of Pop IMO (a couple of cans a week) … and I do know that he’s been told to cut back / cut it out of his diet, because it is a factor in his getting / formulating kidney stones (uric acid type)

He HATES passing a kidney stone… so he may just start paying more attention to that recommendation by his Doctor

On the other hand, beer is also a big contributor… and I quite frankly might see him cut back on that… but doubt he’ll ever eliminate it totally.

PS… Hmmm, seems to be a glitch, I cannot see the Poll you’ve posted (I’ll try back later)

That’s over 35 cans of soda in one day.
