My friend’s shower is coming up and we are inviting her cousin, and she has 4 little girls ranging in ages 2-8! I want to make little activity bags for them so when my friend opens gifts they are not super bored (I probably would have died of boredom at that age at a bridal shower). I thought it would be a nice gesture, whether they use the goodies or not.
Anyway, I was thinking for the little little ones to get some big crayons and print out some wedding coloring sheets and maybe put in a fun tiara or something. I’m stuck on what to put in a bag for an 8 year old, but if I make them for the little girls I cannot leave her out. What do you guys think an 8 year old would like in a wedding shower goodie bag? Also, what else can I include in the bags for the younger girls? I do not have any tiny cousins/nieces/nephews, so I”m not sure what kids are playing with right now!

For my daughters party bags at her last birthday we put in;
- Lip gloss,
- nail stickers,
- note book and glitter pens,
- kids magazine, (out of date and super cheep at the local newsagent for $1 each)
- hair clips,
- compact mirror.

@soyjoy222: i think coloring out stuff is always a hit with kids… so like you already said, i’d include a coloring book (or some printed out templates) + crayons.
how long do you think the shower will be?
maybe you (or someone else) can bring along some more stuff (that they don’t get to keep) to keep them entertained if it’s a long time… (like dolls, stuff to play dress up or some games?)

Maybe a wedding themed sticker or coloring book?

Thanks guys! I”m going to make a basket with coloring pages (wedding themed) and crayons and maybe some nail stickers. The shower is only 2 hours, so until the girls eat and maybe play one of the games, the coloring pages should be enough to keep them occupied. Maybe I’ll throw in some party tiaras or something for them to wear, haha.

I’m not super creative, so for my wedding I actually bought a template for a coloring book from etsy: SquishyCuteDesigns
If you told them it was for a shower they might be able to work with you on the designs. I was able to get crayola crayons at the dollar store too!
My niece is turning 8 in a couple of months and she loved the coloring book at my wedding in October.
You can also check out oriental trading company, they have cute stuff for favors and things that might work too like these diamond bubble bottle rings: http://www.orientaltrading.com/diamond-shaped-bubble-bottle-rings-a2-13577619-11-1.fltr
