Hey, bees! Birdcage veils look so simple and easy to make. Has anyone known anyone who has had success with this? I am interested in making my own, since I will have an ivory birdcage for my ceremony and a black birdcage for my reception. I am thinking the ivory in tulle and french netting for the black...both simple, blusher not entire face covered. Let me know!! :)DIY BIRDCAGE VEIL?! do a google search for "DIY birdcage veil" and there will be a TON of tutorials...you're right, they are simple!  pick the tutorial you like best and give it a go!  i think that DIYing a veil is a no-brainer way to trim a bit out of your budget, because they charge you SO much in the store for something that's very cheap in raw materials and really only requires cutting a certain shape and gathering a certain way.  good luck!

ETA:  i think your ideas for the different veils for ceremony and reception are going to work really well for you too...i remember your dress and it's absolutely stunning on you!  i almost can't wait for next may so i can see your pictures, lol.

I bought a rhinestone headband($20)and some russian netting($9) to make my hairpiece. It's fairly easy to make and cost a lot less than ones that are for sale! You just have to play around with the netting to see how you'd like it to look.
