My mom just started making me a bolero jacket with McCall's 4450. She's going to make it cap-sleeved, instead of long-sleeved like the pattern. She just started yesterday, and I won't get the finished product for a while, otherwise I'd show it to you!

I've been so inspired by the "Show us your bolero!" post started today. I have my mom's wedding gown (also worn by my aunt & grandma), along with the spare material used when it was altered, and some extra lace from my great grandma, and I would love to sew a bolero to wear. Of course, I'd make about fourteen million mock ups before cutting into the real thing!
Does anyone have any suggestions for patterns, tutorials, or any ideas on how I can go about this? I know I could find a seamstress to do this, but I am a sewer, and if I could do it myself, it would add a great deal of extra meaning to me. A lot of my googling is leading me to knitting patterns.
Thanks!!
