Awesome! Thanks for the review! I've been hearing great things about Adoramapix, I may just try them out!
Thanks for posting this! I was wondering is the paper the glossy heavier stuff you see in high school year books or is it the very heavy, more cardboard like pages?

Hey bees - I consulted the boards big-time in figuring out how to put together a photo album of my boudoir photos for my fiance. I just wanted to repay the favor by reviewing my experience with the company I decided to go through - Adoramapix.com. Overall, it turned out AMAZING and so much better than I could have expected! Here's my review:
What I got: I got an 8x8 hard cover photo book with 38 lay-flat pages.
What I paid: After a $15 discount and $10 for shipping, I paid $43 total for the book
Putting it together: I had to upload my photos to the Adoramapix website (although there were options to import through Picasa or other photo sharing sites.) Then, I was able to choose from a variety of layouts, or to create one myself. To make it easier on myself, I chose one of their pre-made layouts and made some changes to customize it. It was easy to drag the photos from my album and drop them into the placeholders. It took me quite a bit of time because my computer is old and slow, and the site was a little big buggy at times, but overall, it was fairly easy to do. I was also able to customize the cover and put a
Ordering: I received updates on my book's progress, and they sent me an email when it shipped, along with a tracking number. I believe it took about 5 business days for them to make the book, then about 2 days to arrive after I received the shipping notification. Accounting for weekends, I received the book just about two weeks after placing the order.
Quality of the final product: My photos came out looking AWESOME. The paper is pretty heavy and high quality, and the fact that they lay flat is really awesome, because I did several spreads with one photo spanning both pages. I didn't use their photo correction option because my photos were already professionally touched up, and the color/crispness is just awesome. I love how the cover came out - its very sturdy and professional looking.
I highly recommend using Adoramapix if you're planning on making a photo book! Its a little more expensive than alternatives like Shutterfly or Blurb, so if you're doing something more informal I'd stick to those, but this is still really affordable and worth the little bit of extra cash for the quality you get.
