im 5'3 so i totally understand when you say you do not something that is too big because it make me look unproportionate. I say to make them short, you do not want a long bouquet of flowers, here look at this picture.
I helped with flowers for a girlfriends wedding and watched how it was done...
she used three different sizes of roses (a big fluffy garden rose, a regular rose, and a little tea rose). she used about 5 of the big ones (just for impact, really) about 15 of the regular ones (the bulk of the bouquet) and about 6 stems of the tea (as a filler flowers. they were actually a spray rose, so there were 3-5 buds per stem)

Probably right around 20, if I remember right. You can always add or take away if you want it smaller, or to look more full.
Great question, I'm wondering the same thing! Sorry no suggestion, just posting to keep track of the answers. 
We made our own bouquets for a wedding that I was in last year. For the bridesmaids bouquets we used 15 stems and for the bride's bouquet we used 30 ... she used white roses that she purchased from Sams Club online. They have awesome prices and were delivered right to the door! I am planning on using Sams for my wedding flowers too.... I tried uploading a photo but failed! oh well lol
haha I am 5 ft 3 and I made one with 25 just for fun and when I ordered ours I got 25, but that number has signicance for me, too

I am making my own bouquet with true touch roses. I was wondering who has made their own and how many roses you put in it? I'm 5'2" so I don't want anything huge. Any suggestions, please let me know!
