Post # 1
hey guys! this is my second post in diy today- i’ve been busy lately! so here is my issue- our wedding was originally scheduled for september 2012. 6 months before the original date, we had some issues we needed to work out and postponed our wedding (another post for another day!). the first diy project i did after we got engaged were the boutonnieres. FI refuses to wear flowers and i was really excited to create something special for him and his guys to wear that reflects not just our style but also their personal styles. i chose a rustic twig/berry combo and i really think they came out fabulous (keep in mind, they were my first diy ever!). FI loves them and they’ve become somewhat of a sentimental thing for me.. looking at them i think about how excited i was to be engaged and planning. so now our wedding is in july. all of our colors are the same but i have been feeling like the old boutonnieres may be a little too fall-ish for our summer daytime wedding. what do you guys think?

Before reading your post I looked straight at the picture and thought “ohh i love fall weddings”
So yes, they seem quite fall.
Anyway you can maybe paint the leaf green?
Post # 4
@tranquility: thank you for your input! painting the leaf is not a bad idea.

@dovelovesfalcon: I think they look awesome. I highly doubt that anyone at your actual wedding will think, “Pshaw, this wedding could have been perfect except for those fall-looking bouts…” Ya know? They look cool and rustic to me.

@lolot: hahah true. the things we hem and haw over while planning a wedding! i think they look cool and rustic too. i am going to stop over to michael’s crafts tonight to see if i can get a peach leaf or something to stick in there to make it more summery. thanks!

I would paint the leaves green and maybe paint the “berries” as white, to freshen it up…
Post # 8
I like the idea of a peach like leaf or even green. But I also think they look great the way they are. Great job!!!

@hassle_J: oooooh i love the idea of painting the berries!
@Curly W: thank you!

Do they look very fallish? Yes.
Does it matter? Nope!
They look great and you both love them so keep them!!! Or modify, if you want.

Agree that they do seem fall-ish, and also agree that a little bit of paint will totally lighten them up. They look great!

it’s a bit fall-ish but they are also very rustic-looking! good job with them, i think they turned out really well! i think it also really depends on the flowers u are having, the color and theme, etc. 😉 overall i like them the way they are.

@tranquility: I thought the same thing. Don’t get me wrong, they are really cute, but they also really scream fall wedding to me.
