I was thinking about doing this as well! Your necklace turned out great
I love the simple, clean look
I'm considering doing this too. I think your necklace looks great. Very clean and pretty.
It is absolutely beautiful. I used to make earrings and necklaces and bracelets too, then I got bored and haven't touched it in years!!! It gives me such a great idea. Yours is very simple and looks very elegant too.
Thanks! A year or so ago I had the brilliant idea to start making jewelry for fun, and of course after making a couple of bracelets, all of the supplies slowly made their way into the back of the closet to gather dust. It's nice to get them out and play around again!
OOHH! very cute and simple- I totally dig it! My fiance and I decided to make all the jewelry for the bridesmaids as well - REAL pearl earrings and pearl necklaces with swarovski crystals (spaced out with 18 pearls, then 7 pearls, then 18 again (our wedding date)- and also our mothers (his mother, his step-mother, my mother and grandmother) - single pearl necklace with matching bracelets. DIYing is key to stay on a good budget. We could not believe how much we saved! One thing you might want to consider - we added a personal touch to each of the necklaces, so that they all weren't exactly the same. We added different colored beads near the facets so that thay had a more personalized charm and each was just a little bit different. Hooray!
I made my own, and it was waaaay easier than I thought it would be!

JennH I love yours too! luckyinluv I really like the idea of switching it up slightly for each girl, I think they'd love that :)
I love the "floating bead" look - you did a beautiful job!
I do have one suggestion for you - have someone put the necklace on and take pictures of them from various angles/distances to get a feel for what it looks like on paper. In some instances the wire doesn't translate well on camera and the pictures look like there are weird "moles" on the person's neck.
The wire on yours looks thick enough and you should be totally fine; just wanted to give you a head's up!
It's very pretty and like everyone else said simple, something that they can wear for other events or just go to go out.
Great job!
Nice and simple, I think that would make a nice gift that they would def be able to wear again
Very cute! I plan on making necklaces for my bridesmaids too! Maybe earrings as well!
So cute! And easy, right! Your girls will love them and it's definitely something they will wear again. :)
Check this out - I love these necklaces...

Hi! Has anyone else tried DIY bridesmaid necklaces? I have 6 bridesmaids (5 are my sisters) and was originally going to buy them jewelry for the wedding, but got bored on Saturday and I kind of like the result. Can I get some honest opinions on how this necklace looks? I need an outside opinion, my friends of course will tell me it's great...they are good liars :)
