Ummmm LOVE these. I might steal your idea! I love the ruffles!!!
These are adorable! I've been considering something similar; was the material expensive?
These are gorgeous! I'm impressed! Just one warning... be careful if you are using candles at all in your centerpieces. Burlap is highly highly flammable!
@bakerella - I'm a ruffle addict! My wedding purse and cardigan have ruffles, too!
Here's a look at the ones I've already made, from a geometric fabric, for the head, cake and gift tables. Just so you have an idea of what they look like in something other than burlap!

Okay, if you haven't posted a DIY tutorial yet, could you please? I love these!!!
@loladidntdoit - The fabric is super cheap. I bought mine from an upholstery company online for $1.20 a yard.
@moose1209 - Thanks for the head's up! I am using candles, but they're votive size in 8oz or larger mason jars, so I think they should be ok.
So cute!! I'm using burlap table runners too, but cannot sew for the life of me...so mine won't be as cute as yours =( I love the look of burlap, though!
@bakerella - I haven't posted a tutorial, but I'd be glad to! My sewing skills are really minimal, so keep in mind I might be making it harder than it has to be!
Thanks! I'm not a great seamstress either, so the simpler the better for me too! I had to elastic band a DVD case to my sewing machine so I could use it as a guide to sew a straight line on my invitations ;)
@bakerella - my mom would stick a piece of masking tape onto the sewing machine for me to use as a guide!

@jduck84 - That is such a great idea, I think I'm going to do that too!
These are wonderful! Would you be willing to sell them after your August wedding?
@travelingirl: First, I love your SN! Ha... Second, I would be willing, however, we have screen printed our monogrammed on them, so if you're going to be a Mrs. S - let me know! We have 10 burlap and 8 of the geometric print - they're 10ft long X 16in wide.
(Feel free to PM me, as I'd consider making new ones, too.)
These are so freakin cute I had to register on wedding bee to leave a comment :-) and a question... where did you have them screen printed? I love that detail!
WOW, your work with Burlap is amazing, I love all your ideas. Would you be willing to say where you ordered your Burlap from?
@sunflowers2010 - I ordered from Northwest Upholstery. They're prices are cheaper the more you buy. I bought 40 yards and made 12 10ft runners with ruffles, about 10 pillow cases and a dozen flags for a banner and went through every inch!
Oh, and thanks! We got married on the east coast but live on the west... and actually just got our last box of stuff from the wedding today in the mail - with the runners! I can't wait to re-sew them into normal table sizes for our families!
@VagabondGurl: where did you take these to get the monogram on them?
@lizbethamber: My DH is a screen printer, so he put the monograms on. If you have a yudu, you could do it yourself. Or a local screen printer could do it for about $100 (depending on how many you have).
@FutureMrsMcDermott: Thanks for the compliment!
I actually "destroyed" my first one yesterday! I used the fabric to upholster the drawer fronts of our dresser and one of the ends with the monogram/ruffle on the top of the dresser as a "doily" type thing! It was so hard after having spent so long working on these to take scissors to them.... but I love the new look of our dresser, and It's a constant reminder of our wonderful wedding!
@elliegraye: Here it is!

I still need to get new drawer pulls.... but not too shabby!
Our "guestbook" is that wood slice on top!
Cool! I love your crafting skills!! Now, for a closeup of that guestbook! Please tell us how to do that. That is AWESOME!! Love it!
The guestbook was easy... I bought a wood slice at Michael's and used thin point sharpie pens for the guests to sign. We haven't shelacked (sp?) it, or anything, and I don't think we will. We actually had two guestbooks - the wood slice and the thumbprint tree, also below. DH drew the tree and we used a few different colored inks for the leaves.

Do you still have those table runners with the monogramed S ? I might be interested in purchasing them.
I was wondering if you could tell me howyou got the monogram on htere? I'm making burlap table runners as well and really like that detail.

I sewed my first of 8 runners today.
I'm impressed at how straight my seams are, as I'm a novice and pretty reckless on my sewing machine!
