Is it covered in fondant or anything?  It looks really good!  You could always do the very bottom tier as a real cake so you have something real to cut into.

amazing!!! i say most people wouldn’t really notice the cake-cutting so you could very well have a big real piece ready for you both to feed each other with 😉
