Thank you for all the feedback from my original post on my DIY Centerpiece. I finally got all the pieces and pulled it together for a sample. I included a couple different angles. THOUGHTS?
I like everything but the mirror, the flowers are gorgeous floating in the water!
Very nice! I love all the light the mirror is giving off.
Love them! If you don't mind me asking..how much did it cost you to make them? That is a great idea!
THANK YOU LADIES! It was so easy and cheap to do!
@prairiegrl they are silk flowers from pier one! They're like an orchid.
Price Breakdown:
$10-12- Vase (got them at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Homegoods)
$6- Strands of silk flowers from Pier One (little pricey, but I wanted them to look nice and real)
$1- Clear stones from the dollar store
$1- Plate holding floating candal from dollar store
$3.70- Mirror from save on crafts
$2- Chocolate taffeta runner from wedding bee classifieds!
$1 or so- tealights, floating candles
Normally, I don't like the mirror thing, but those are cool. I really like the candle on top.
I love them!!! Congrats... they're beautiful!!!
It looks beautiful. I love how the color of the flower pops....if I would change anything it would be to add the candle holders for the tea lights (I think they sell those at the Dollar Tree too).
They look great!! The only thought I had was the same as JamaicaBride's - the tealight holders. Other than that, it's great!! :)
Maybe because I haven't been able to go to sleep and I'm being dim, but how are the candles staying up there. I see there is a "thing" holding them... but what is it? Never the less I love it, very creative and I love the "romance" feel with the candlight. I love candlight.
I think it looks great. My only feedback would be to not use naked tea lights. it's already been mentioned but I think they would look better inside of a holder or even if you emoved the tealights and just used the 4 candles on the corners. Naked tea lights, IMO detract from your look and can also be dangerous because after a couple of hours they are just liquid hot wax.
oh wow..i think they look very pretty!! good job!!
Wow, those look great. Definitely looking very elegant and classy.
These are beautiful, so elegant! I agree with posters who suggested adding some sort of container for the tea lights.
wonderful! I love the black ribbon and how it makes the color in the flower POP!
I agree with the girls about putting the tea lights in a holder. Something really simple would look great so it doesn't take away from the other candels or the flower!
They look awesome!! I can't tell exactly how tall the vases are from the pictures, but if you haven't bought all of them yet, you can get vases from Dollar Tree as well which would save you even more! Here's links to a couple different ones:
Awesome job! I was just checking out your original attempt and it looks WAY better! Having all these opinions really helps, hey? :)
I love the mirror ~ it makes for more sparkle/light from the candles and putting the ribbon around the top really helped with the over all look!
Great job! Wootwoot!
Love love this look!
Really love how the dish is on top of the centerpiece with a floating candle in it! Overall though, the entire display is just beautiful! Great job!
I think I'll have to make notes for that myself..;)
I'd agree with some of the others - either put the bare tealights in votive holders (of the same size or smaller, for interest....) Or remove them. Your main centerpiece w. the mirror and the 4 votives can be just as great like that! :)
Though I can see how more lighting can add more romance and such, so if that's what you are looking for, then, again, putting the bare tealights into holders would be nice. :)
Err..sorry if I repeated myself. hehe.
Thanks! Good luck!
Awesome!!! I am with some of the other bees and maybe you could putthe tealights in holders?
Those are so pretty! Another vote from me on putting the tea lights in an actual holder. Actually, Pier 1 sells clear glass tea light holders that are pretty cheap if I remember. I worked there long ago and we sold a lot of them. You don't want someone to try and grab one and burn themselves.
Wow! I definitely love the idea of having the flowers floating in the water. It's such a simple idea, but so unique and gorgeous!
So pretty!! I just don't like the naked tea lights....maybe add something small to them...or limit/ remove them?? They melt really fast too...just a thought..
