haha... i just did my centerpieces over the weekend using silk flowers and added water for the 'real' effect. my FI didn't even know the flowers were fake. but then again... he's a guy. =P
I like the way you did the ribbon. I need to check out dollartree.com! I want square vases and have been having trouble finding them.
I am loving this! Thanks for adding the websites you used, too. Beautiful!
This may sound crazy in this technology reliant world...but i never thought to see if dollar tree had a website! Wonderful!
i love it. but i would take out the greenary you have in there and put something skinnier because its hiding the orchids. i saw some in dollar store its in a bunch but you can cut it and just put in 3 to 5 pieces .
I second dinak. From the first picture, I didn't know that they were orchids. Maybe it was just the angle? Great idea though!

I made centerpieces myself - very simple to do. Cost under $10.00 per centerpiece.
Supplies:
Vase - dollartree.com for $1 each
Rocks at bottom of vase - dollartree.com for $1.00 per bag of rocks
Orchids (silk) - $1.25 per stem from afloral.com .. this was a closeout flower (only one stem used per vase)
Greenery (fake) - less then $2 for a small bunch of greenery at afloral.com
ribbon - I got a couple spools of ribbon at Michael's for $1.00 each - I only used about 15 inches of ribbon per vase.
votive candles: I got clear glass votives at a local craft store on sale, but I found some on dollartree.com for $1 each.
Total cost per centerpiece: about $8.00
The nice thing about silk flowers is you can put them away and forget about them until your big day! These florals look great! When the reception room is all set up no one will ever know that the flowers are not real..... you could even put water in the vase for the added "real" effect.
