Hi all. so i booked a florist, she made me a sample of a centerpiece that i didn’t like to say the least. well….i hated it…i tried to explain to her what i wanted, she didn’t seem to listen. So my amazing MOH went to a flower place and got me all the flowers i wanted and few hours later we made a centerpiece that I love. I will show my florist this picture and tell her exactly the flowers used, i hope she can copy our amature attempt:) i think we did pretty well for FIRST timers!:) what do you think?
(btw the vase will be clear with crystals hanging all around it, not this brown thing from my patio set:))

If you can do it that well, why not just cut out the middleman and make them yourself?

thank you for the compliment:) but i dont think i can handle making 10 centerpieces like that. it’s a lot of work and i wouldn’t be able to make them the day of…and day before…and bringing them to the venue…setting them up…naaah let her do the work. i just hope she can copy this exact one

Thats very pretty! And a really great job for a first try.. I would say she shouldn’t have a problem, I mean, if she’s a florist I’m sure she has some experience wtih it.

I think the one you and the MOH made is beautiful! With the pictures, your florist SHOULD be able to re-create it. It looks like the biggest differences between yours and hers are that her greenery sticking out is way too long and arranged oddly, and the main floral part on hers is way too condensed. Yours looks more natural with some open space here and there and the flowers at slightly different depths. You did great for the first time!
Is she creating great bouquets and/or come at a great price? If not, honestly, I’m inclined to say maybe you need a different florist, if she thinks the one she made looks good. Floral design is very aesthetic driven, and it seems she doens’t fully grasp those concepts! Maybe you could get a group of people (not bridesmaids or other people who will be busy) who are willing to help you out and re-create the centerpieces for you the day before/on the day of the wedding. You could teach them what you want beforehand, since you obviously know how to do what you want. Yes, it’s a little more stress, but I’m sure it will be cheaper and you’ll have direct control over what you get!
Either way, now that you know exactly what you want and how to do it, you should have an easier time getting whoever is doing it to look like that!

they actually look very very similar so your florist should have no problems making the necessary changes! Should just communicate to her/him exactly what you want differently. Seems like you don’t like all the extra blooms sticking out at the top. Easy!

youre right on the money here. I like the look of a more relaxed yet still structured arrangement. I picked the exact colors of roses I wanted, I already gave my florist the picture and names of roses , she will make m a sample again. I’m very confident now that she can make it happen.

bigcitydiamonds: I think you did an amazing job. Ever thing about renting tall vases and doing them in silk flowers instead. then you can be sure the design is exactly what you want? Just an idea as you can do them weeks in advance. Good luck!
