I'm looking for some feedback please. :-) I was feeling unsure of my DIY centerpieces, so I tried a mockup table setting at home. My table is 52" and the reception tables will be a little bigger at 60". The place settings will have 1-2 goblets for water and/or tea. (The guests will get other beverages at the open bar). There will silverwear on the table, and napkins. All the linens are white. I'm pretty sure my fiancee think's I'm crazy that I folded up hand towels to be mock up nakins! There won't be formal dinner plates on the table.

So I'm looking for feedback overall table decor and the centerpeices

The lanterns will have a base of sand inside of them. The candle will have the blue ribbon and will have a string of pearls on the edges of the ribbon around the candle. Then the lanterns will be surrounded by the blue and white glass pebbles and some white finger starfish.

Are these okay? Is there something I could do to make it look a little better? My fear is that they are just lame, but I'm not sure whatelse to do.

The only part I am on the fence about are the glass pebbles scattered.  I love your table number, the lanterns,  and the starfish but think the pebbles and colored ribbon on the candle and pebbles kind of take away from the design.

Maybe you could put the pebbles and a starfish or two in the lantern to see how it would look and leave the candles plain? Is it in your budget to add a bud vase or two to each table with a simple bloom?  I think flowers go a long way.

I would also put the pebbles in the lantern.

These are all things I'd notice as a wedding planner/coordinator:

There may also be a bread basket, butter, salt and peppers, sugars and a creamer on your table, depending on what your venue/caterer does.

Those pebbles will more than likely either end up tossed in the trash or you may have to pick them all up yourselves.

They're small enough that guests may go to put their glasses down and not realize there's one under it, and a lot of stuff could get spilled.

It's super cute, but think about all of that before you commit to them.

    Good luck!

I really like the pebbles scattered and think it is pretty, but I do see what they are saying about the drinks possible spilling? However, maybe if you put them enough in the center it would definitely be out of the way of the drinks! I think you cant go wrong and it looks fantastic!

I tried out a few of the suggestions..  The flowers in the picture are fake becuase that is what I had on hand at home, but they would be replaced with fresh lily's if I went this direction.  The first one shows starfish inside the lantern.. I'll post two other options next.

And this one shows no starfish... I would then put a starfish on each of the guest's napkins if I went this route.

Don't you just love a work in progress?

I would place the pebbles inside the lantern, lower the blue ribbon on the pillar candle and either put the starfish inside the lantern or use them on the napkins as you mentioned.

You could use a bit of blue ribbon as a napkin ring with the starfish or tuck the starfish in a napkin where the silverware are in the photo on the right.

Personally, I think if budget is at all an issue, you could do the lanterns by themselves with the table number.

If you have the budget, the flowers are a great addition, use in groups of 3. Perhaps add 3 votive candles also.
