Ok, so I’m seriously thinking of DIYing my centerpieces. I think its more personal, and obviously cheaper. BUT I have absolutely NO idea where to begin. My reception is in door and evening. The colors are dark purple and silver. Theme is 2 hearts 1 love. I’m going for a romantic elegant feel. If you guys could help with ideas or pictures, I’d be so indebted! Thanks y’all

First, I have a couple questions for you:
What does your venue look like?
What time of day/evening are you having your wedding?
Are you looking for something other than flowers?
How comfortable are you with DIY?
Let me know and I’ll post some ideas 🙂

@TheFutureMrsT: My venue is an indoor venue. Its very rustic looking, similar to the feel of a cabin in lake tahoe. The website is http://www.thegrovereno.com. Its got rock pillar walls and tongue and groove wood roof beams.
My reception will be around 6:30-7:00. I’m getting married on the outdoor patio under a beautiful arbor of the same facility.
Yes, my theme is 2 hearts 1 love. With a romantic, elegant and rich feel to the ceremony. So I’m not opposed to something that’s not flowers…although, my ideal would be a mix of floral and candles.
Very comfortable with DIY. My MOH mother, who I’m very close with is a DIY queen and she’s offered to help me put together whatever I need. I’m creative and have an eye for detail…so DIY shouldn’t be a problem.
Hopefuly that information helps. Thank you so much in advance for your help 🙂

You should search for different things like vases, flowers, candles, frames, candlelabras ..etc in those colors then try to incorporate them together to see how they look? experiment a little with it and im sure youll get more ideas and eventually come up with something that you like!

I’m totally addicted to save-on-crafts.com. I’ve gotten so much inspiration just looking at their stuff.
I’m thinking about doing apothecary jars filled with moss, twigs, and garden roses. I’m also really liking the idea creating the luxe look of the flowers above using carnations, a dowel and floral foam sphere and putting it on a tall silver taper candlestick. Like this.
Perhaps with some 3x3x3 shallow square glass as accents, filled with twisted bear grass and topped with a large garden rose?
BTW I love your venue! We’re going with a similar theme in a totally different venue.
