@MsD2188: Try incorporating some of your favorite flowers, or those that match the wedding scheme. Or you could place a mirror at the base, use smaller mirrors at a tilt, and have the flowers attached the to the back of the mirrors so they don’t see the back, just the illuminating light? I’ve seen some where aside from the mini candles around it they put out little flower petals, mini mirrors, beads, etc….

Mine’s a similar idea.  I have lanterns with votives and fake flower petals, and a 16″ mirrors underneath.

Ah, now I see what people have been saying about posts being ‘eaten’…

Under the pic I had added that I also worried that the fake flower petals would look too tacky, but in the end I decided I didn’t care.  They are the perfect expression of my bold and colorful color scheme and will relaly brighten up the table.  (My table cloths will be royal blue, like this one I have at home but without the ribbing).  I don’t think people will look at the petals as much as the lanterns anyway.
