Wow, you are very creative! Who would ever think of re-using a broken dress hanger? That's great!!
@Usuki:Thanks. :) LOL that was my and my SO's idea. I made the tree and it was great, and then I put the necklaces on had some structural... er... failure. So I had to reinforce it, and I was sitting in his room and he had a broken hanger right there, so I just added it in!
I love the tree. Such a clever idea. I would love to see a picture of the finished decoupaged project.
This made me laugh a little because I SOOOOOO get the feeling.
I seriously love the wire tree.
WOW! I am definitely going to try the hanger thingy. Great ideas!!!
I agree - the necklace tree is awesome, and dammit - I'm stealing it! LOL I have necklaces hanging from my side table and are all tangled. I'm going to break down some hangers if i have to and I'll use my floral tape. I'm a DIY freak about everything so I feel you!! they look awesome!

I am going DIY crazy. Not all wedding related.
We have ZERO spare money not going to the honeymoon or car payments, etc, so I have been going DIY crazy.
I have spent $0 on all this--it's all stuff I had (of course, it cost money in the first place).
We have these Q-tips in a dumb box that I keep almost dumping into the toilet, so I cut up a powerade bottle and made a Q-tip holder. At first it didn't have the grommets in the back with the tie, but i realized if I dropped the lid in the toilet--well i hadn't solved the problem!
My necklaces are getting all tangled--no jewelry box, so I made a necklace tree with 20gauge wire, a piece of a broken plastic hanger, floral tape, and cardboard. I have mod podge and want to decoupage the base so it looks less ... dumb.
I am going hanger crazy. I LOVE everyone's hangers, so here's my
"attempt #1" with 20 guage wire (i just stuck it on a plastic hanger for show) but it's too flimsy, so
"attempt #2" is made out of 3 (yes 3) wire hangers. Then I drilled a clear plastic hanger and painted the wire with acrylic with glitter. However, I will hopefull find some money on the ground and buy a wooden hanger :)
prep
final (well, i didn't trim the ends in case i switch to a wooden one)
