Maybe you could put up a cute sign to direct them to it.
@jessiesdream: Agree, a sign is always a good way to go.
Also I would put out bags or boxes for the guests to fill up the goods with. You can also let one or two people spread the word. As guests see people with bags filled with goodies they will ask.
A sign would be good.
FI and I are using old salsa jars that we've collected. The jars are doubling as place cards (we're going to have one at every place setting and each one will have that respective guests' name on it). So, they will take their jars up to the candy buffet to fill them up as favors.
I think the sticker labels on the jars will say something that lets the guests know that they should take their jars up to the candy buffet to fill them up before they leave... I just don't know how we'll word it.
@Pinksapphire: Holy shizz you guys must love salsa!! I'd never be able to collect that many jars.
Sounds like a very cute idea with the jars though.

Hey everyone! So I am planning on doing a dessert/candy bar at my wedding next summer. I love all things dessert and actually decided to pursue it further by going to culinary school in March in NYC for baking & pastry. I want to use the bar as favors for my guests. The place we are getting married in is an old victoririan mansion, so there are rooms that are connected for seating for dinner instead of one big open room like in most venues. There is one room that we would be using that isn't connected to the others for the dessert bar. My questions is, how do I let the guests know to go to the dessert bar to fill up goodie bags/boxes? I wanted to put them on their plates on the tables, but am worried they won't know what to do with them since they will be empty. The other room is not far away at all. It is just across the hall from the others that are connected. Thanks guys!
