I just wanted to share with you something I found on pintrest (which I am utterly addicted to, I have to say)
My girlie likes to pull stuffing out of toys and shred them into oblivion. I found this:
made it from scraps and off cuts of fabric, felt, cut up odd socks, and already half dead toys…. and she LOVES it. And I love it, it’s great! I just pop all the bits back in the ball after she’s pulled them out everywhere. Plus the ball only cost me £4, because other than buying the ball, I used stuff I already have!
So if you gave a pup who likes to destroy things then I can’t recommend it more

@Sparkidoodle: That’s an awesome find! I don’t have a dog, but I have 3 cats and I could see them loving this too!

awesome idea! that will definitely help with my dog’s separation anxiety (if I use old t-shirts that we’ve worn!). I just need to find a rubber ball like that, one she can’t destroy.

@pengoala: yes good idea! I can see cats enjoying it too
@jasonkatie2014: that’s a brilliant idea! And as you don’t need too many bits of material you’d probably only need one shirt and you’d have lots of “spare” material to swap with in a few months time

You just have to be carefu with threads and ropes because the little threads can get tangled in their stomachs and clog them up or tear up their intestines – make sure the materials and fabrics aren’t too stringy
good idea though!

@Sparkidoodle: omg what a brilliant idea! Thank you so much! I already have that ball so now all I need to do is stuff it. My border collie is the master at picking, tearing, shredding things apart… I’m forever trying to find things for him to tear up.

@pinkkathryn: yes that is a very good point! Luckily for me, Millie just “destuffings” the toys and very rarely chews the bits, but this is still something to remember
@sehrler: happy to help! That’s fortuitous that you already have a ball! Yippee!
We’re 4 days out and it still seems to be her favourite. And I am so pleased that instead of wandering around picking up bits to bin, I know they’re not going to waste because they’re all going back in the ball! Same job as last week, just more rewarding in a way!
