I recently went to a wine & canvas painting class, and was the only person not to finish her portrait. Fail.

I bought paint and an easle to finish that sucker at home. . . still haven’t. Can’t paint when I have a house to clean! Looks like it’ll never get done.

I bought some tiny blue Swarovski crystals and put them on the bottom of my shoes spelling out “I do” and it was a total fail.

I used super glue and no matter what I try, the crystals keep “frosting” over and it looks terrible.  I’ll be peeling those babies off and trying again with the high quality craft glue you’re supposed to use.

I apparently am not hippie enough to figure out how to make a silk flower crown.  Can’t do it, it looked like a 2nd grader made it.

@CorgiTales:  “cutting wine glasses with nothing but string, acetone, a lighter, and a sink full of ice water?” Ya…that doesn’t sound that simple or that safe!  πŸ˜‰

@CorgiTales:  I kept getting hung up on which brush I was supposed to use, and I kept snooping at my neighbors’ paintings so I just sort of fuzzed out on mine. I’m competetive and a perfectionist, and I wanted mine to be the best ever!

I suppose it still has that potential… If I ever finish it. πŸ™‚

@LindsayMaree:  How strange.  Isn’t super glue clear?

God bless you for trying! If you gave me some acetone and a lighter in any combination, shit would be burnt- including myself and the house.

@WillyNilly:  Not really. It’s evil stuff and does dry “frosty” – so if you get the tiniest bit on crystals (or beads, or glass, or a mirror….) it gets an unfortunate frosted look. πŸ™

I crocheted FI an owl hat. (it’s a winter hat with owl eyes, ears and a beak. He asked for it, I swear!) I made it a little bigger than the pattern suggested. It still doesn’t fit his big head. Grrr. Time to try again.

@UmbrellaMoon:  Aw, but it sounds cute!  Can you sell it on Etsy?  πŸ˜‰

@CorgiTales:  I am just speculating here, but did you use pure acetone, or nailpolish remover? Just wondering because I noticed nail polish remover stops working if you leave the bottle open too long (all the acetone evaporates, leaving only the non-active ingredients). Of course, if you used pure acetone, this probably wouldn’t be an issue. I dunno if this helped, but if it did, maybe you can try again and claim a victory?!

Ohhh John & Sherry of Young House Love tried to do that and had a bunch of failed attempts. I’m going to look for the link πŸ™‚

I tried to make home made ice cream the other day and it turned out to be more like custard that just freezes, no nice ice cream texture. UGH!
