Hi!  I can totally sympathise!  I make veils and fascinators for a bridal salon, and I wanted to make feather fascinators, but it was really hard.  I ordered one on line and took it apart, and one secret is to use a tiny (maybe 3/8 inch) styrofoam ball in the middle to stick the feather ends into.  In the end, I found a fabulous site on line where I order the flowers when I need them, and just sew an aligator clip onto the back of them.  You can buy the clips at Sally’s or JoAnn’s.  The site where I buy them is

They have simple, pretty choices for around $15, and the more elaborate ones go up from there.
