Instead of buying flowers of any kind for centerpieces, I bought these beautiful candle lanterns
<-------those
and made tissue flowers for 'flowers'
<---like these
Considerably cheaper than just flowers....
purchased my flowers from sams club for $305.00 included
bridal bouquet
toss bouquet
4 bridesmaids bouquets
8 boutineers
4 wrist corsages

I went to a local flower market and got them all wholesale. We used a ton of flowers and I got about 50+ arrangments of varrying sizes (they were in anything from a pint size mason jar to a gallon size mason jar) for about $380...amazing! Hydrangea, seeded eucalyptus, bear grass, bells of ireland. They were GORGEOUS, although I do like a full, natural look instead of something structured, so I'm not sure how much something like roses would go. We also did the same thing for my shower with gerbera daisies, and with the flowers and fillers we made 30 arrangements for a little over $100.
We ordered 200 roses from Sam's Club online for about $150. My coordinator made 1 brides bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, 2 mini-bouquets for the moms, bouts for groom/5 groomsmen/1 usher/1 ring bearer/2 dads, plus 14 centerpieces and petals for the cake table!
We kept it super simple by only using one type of flower (plus we spent about $20 at a flower mart on some greenery for the bouts). We got all of these flowers for less than I was quoted for a bouquet!
We also did submerged centerpieces, which were very easy and only needed 3 flowers apiece! I don't have any pro pics back, but here are a couple pics where you can see the bouquets and centerpieces:

I did canelabras as center peices but i dont know if they were any cheaper than flowers or not - they ran about $20/per centerpiece (at the time, i've seen them go up in price since then)

For flowers i ordered bulk from sams club and did all the flowers myself. I ordered 200 roses for $150 (including shipping) that made 5 BM bouquest, my bouquet and 8 bouts.

@totheislnds: Oh, we ordered the same flowers! :) I actually think you may have given me the idea here on WB when I first started planning.
@MaraBeth: that is too funny! well if was me - im glad i could help! haha your flowers look lovely!
I just ordered my flowers from afloral (so silk flowers) for my bridesmaid bouquets. I got 60 black and white anemones and floral tape for about $100. This lets me make four bouquets and have 12 flowers leftover to decorate the cake table.
My best friend did all her flowers herself for around $1200. That includes:
1 brides bouquet
5 bridesmaid bouquet
approx 15 centerpieces with vases
and all the bouts and corsages
She used wholeblossoms.com.
Hope that helps

I'm planning on doing relatively simple flower arrangements myself, with flowers from fiftyflowers.com or one of the other sites. Since my wedding is still ten months away, I'm not sure I want to pick a site and exact flowers yet, but I am trying to get a rough estimate of how much it will cost so I can budget for it. For brides who used flowers from online, how much did you spend and what did it include? I'll be making about 15 centerpieces, a bridal boquet, and 4 bridesmaids.
