I am DIYing silk flowers. Still...they sort of take the same process to make. I Youtubed a ton of videos. Don't just look at one person's instructions - look at multiple videos. Also, if you go to www.save-on-crafts.com, they sell many DIY floral supplies that are needed for real flowers. They aslo have tutorials, step by step pictures and videos for how to DIY. Finally, if you're doing real flowers, I know many brides that were successful at them BECAUSE they have done trials before the wedding. I reccommend going to your local flower shop or even the floral section of the grocery store and buying sample stems to create a sample bouquet. After you've got the feel for it, it speeds up the process and you get better each time! Good luck!
I was going to get some grocery store flowers to practice with before I decide to do them. I just worry about keeping them from wilting and choosing flowers that will hold up well.
I am doing all my own, I bought the flowers at the dollar tree. I took these to work to get opinions from some very opinionated ladies and they all ohed and aughed over them. They were easy and really inexpensive.

I'm thinking of doing the bouquets by myself with family and friends. I know there is lots of work involved with de-thorning and all. I am just shocked at the price of my bouquets! I am pretty crafty and I even worked at a floral shop (although it was 10 yrs ago) but I'm still really nervous. Mostly because if I screw it up there is really no back-up plan, as you can't get bouquets made the day of. Anyone have any experience with this? Opinions and tips are greatly appreciated!
