I knew from long before I had even met the man that I’d DIY my wedding flowers. When my cousins got married (mentioned them before, like my sisters, blah blah) we DIYed all the flowers for all 3 weddings. And they turned out marvelous. Actually, the flowers in the 3rd wedding were easily the best. Probably because we knew what we were doing by that point.
I haven’t decided on exact quantity yet, but I need a little help.
I want the overall look to be a little like this, but switched. My bouquet with more purple and the BMs with more white.
This is what I KNOW I’m getting:
Baby’s breath from Costco (100 stems for $80, may get 200)
Mixed purple carnation box with 4 colors http://www.fiftyflowers.com/product/Purple-Carnation-Flowers-Mixed_12.htm
Extra lavender carnations http://www.fiftyflowers.com/product/Purple-Deep-Lavender-Carnation-Flowers_24219.htm
Cream carnations http://www.fiftyflowers.com/product/Cream-Carnation-Flowers_92.htm
About a dozen daffodils to be placed basically randomly. There is a story behind our first date about that There will be a single daffodil in my bouquet and a few other places. Since I only want a few, I’ll get those from a local florist (or maybe just grow them, we’ll see).
So where I’m stuck is the roses. I know I want cream/ivory and lavender.
I love the Vendela Ivory Rose
but this is cheaper. http://www.fiftyflowers.com/product/Cream-Fresh-Roses_336.htm
I dubbed it “The Gamble Box” because you can get anything, not an assorted box. And they don’t specify what the types of possible flowers are, just that they’re cream roses. And it doesn’t say how long the stems are. Is that a bad idea?
And I love these lavender ones http://www.fiftyflowers.com/product/Cool-Water-Lavender-Rose_313.htm
But some reviews mention they look more pink than lavender. They’re also expensive.
And THEN, I ran across this. http://www.growersbox.com/flowers/16-inch-roses-125-stems
But they don’t tell me what type of lavender rose or even give me a picture. It is WAY cheaper than the above options. Is it worth the risk? I am really trying to save money, but I don’t want the flowers to look odd.
