@jamamadi:  so the reason why the Estee Lauder DW didn’t work is because they changed the formula back at the beginning of the year and it’s now horrible. It’s not the same product it used to be. Sorry no one told you before you ordered it.

Can you order products from Sephora online? If not, try to find Make Up Forever HD foundation or Kat Von D Lock-It foundation from another retailer. Those two foundations are favorites among people who need a lasting, meduim-ful coverage foundation

@jamamadi:  if you watch some YouTube videos, there are some great tips on applying it so it doesn’t look cakey. The biggest one is to only use 1 pump or less (depending on how much covereage you want). I’ve seen it applied with the Beauty Blender or a stippling brush. Make sure you moisturize and prime before applying any full coverage foundation. It will help to prevent dry patches or oil later on

I think the lipstick is too purple pink. The foundation looks too white on you.

Also, all I see is blush. I don’t see any bronzer to contour your face?

I’m a serious make-up person. I tested almost everything out there. Double Wear is perfectly fine ( i wrote it on wedding day), the new formula is acually BETTER than the last because it has less SPF ( which reflects in photos)  but the problem is that the color you choose is too light and there isn’t a good pressed powder placed on top of it.

Youtube has some great videos on makeup tutorials that may help.

Here is a photo of me and my double wear. I used desert beige and MAC pressed powder over it. Held up all night and looks great.  Hope this helps.

I don’t recommend Kat Von D—too dry/cakey. Go to a Macy’s counter and ask for a free sample of Double Wear in a darker color., or just return yours to sephora and get a darker color.   It looks like you may be wearing bone or linen? Maybe ecru, desert beige would be better for you.

I did my own makeup:

I think you did an amazing job on the hair and eyes! But i do agree the foundation is doing nothing for you. Unfortunately im of no help because ive only ever considered foundation for myself and i have super duper dry skin. Are you living in brazil right now? If your in a decent sized area, alot of department stores can go through a demo with you if you purchase some of their products. Ive done it with mac and mary kay and have been pleasantly surprised with the results and products.

@jamamadi:  I would loosen the hair at the front. Let it frame your face a bit.

I dont know anything about foundation and bronzer and all that, so I cant comment on it. But the eyes arent working for me. I think it goes out too far in the corner and its too dark.

Side note, you look so much like a friend of mine. Your face is a lot thinner than hers though.

Regardless of the foundation you choose, you may want to try Urban Decay’s De-Slick spray. Apply it after your moisturize (but before primer) and again after all of your make-up it on. Also Tarte’s clay setting powder is amazing stuff for locking everything in place.

I also agree with a PP that your look would benefit from some contouring.

I did a little (horrible) paint editing. I think the eye makeup would look so much better if you cut it off where the white is.

I’m using the “Hello Oxygen” Foundation by Benefit (they have it at Ulta).  I don’t wear foundation on a daily basis (just pressed powder for minimal coverage/shine) and when I do wear foundation, I usually buy Covergirl “Clean” Foundation. I test ran the Benefit foundation for my bachelorette party (I got samples from Ulta) and it held up nicely through a long night of drinking, dancing and sweating in 90 degree humid heat.

I agree, the foundation you are using looks too cakey and washes you out.  Maybe it’s how you’re applying it, or the finishing powder you’re using, I’m not sure. Try using a pressed powder and use a bronzer.

Your hair looks amazing…no way could I do that myself!

I’m certainly not a makeup pro – so I’ll leave those tips to more educated bees!

However, I am a bee that did my own makeup for my wedding and had my cousin do my hair on wedding day without a trial. And my advice is that you need to get away from this idea of perfection. Not just with makeup and hair but with life in general. Nothing is perfect. And if that’s what you want you will only be disappointed. You will be beautioful and amazing and radiant on your wedding day. But don’t focus on being perfect. Try to keep things in persepctive and remember what’s really important on a wedding day – the marriage! All that being said, I think you look great and I love your hair!

@jamamadi:  Oh girl, Yes, bone and ivory are the lightest shades possible in Double Wear. You definetly need a darker color!

If you aren’t into lip stick, but lip gloss is too shiny for you, can you try to Clinique chuppy sticks? They are these pencil type things that are sort of “in between” I would go for a light pink shade. If you are doing a dark eye, like you have in the photo, you want a light colored lip

@jamamadi:  Did you apply De-Slick before your make-up AND after? Or only after? I only ask because most people only use it as a setting spray. You can get a lot more benefit by using it at both stages.
