My wedding is in April and I’m FINALLY getting to the DIY stuff now that all of the kinks of planning have been worked out and I’m LOVING it! It’s like I can finally see what the big picture is going to look like with all the little details I’m doing now! And I’m SO excited, don’t get me wrong… Making 140 TINY tissue paper flowers to glue onto handmade napkin rings isn’t my idea of fun per say… but I’m kind of loving gettin’ crafty!
I don’t know how much of my DIY stuff will actually work out and be at the wedding but here’s my list:
dangling tissue paper flower backdrop for arbor
painting/antiqueing program “window”
favors & favor tags
burlap ring pillow
paper flowers for decorating favor bucket, sparkler containers, beverage containers
chalkboard menu/dessert bar
So, are you in DIY Hell or Bliss?? What DIY’s are you doing??

I would say that I am in DIY bliss but I think the secret is to not bite off more than you can choose and to give yourself ample time to tackle the tasks…and they to have a plan B to take the stress off!

I’m in DIY bliss as well… I’ve loved working on all my projects so far. I do 1-2 projects every week so I don’t overwhelm my self.

Im doing bouquets, boutineers, corsages, pomanders, ring box, flower basket, guestbook, birdhouses (decor), favors, signs… can’t think of everything right now.
I’m having a blast!

DIY pergatory? I love some of the little projects but as I am not an incredibly crafty person some are a bit overzealous. I have no shame in resorting to Etsy if things don’t work out.

You can do it! I’ve made my bouquet and veil so far. Going to work on a garter soon!

that is exactly the right attitude. Which is why I waited to make sure I had bare minimum of what I wanted first (like food tables etc) and a clear vision before starting the diy so now I have the attitude of “whatever I finish is extra” instead of putting the pressure on to have every detail. If ya’ll have any projects done feel free to share pictures!! 🙂

Mine were fun, but I totally agree not to bite off more than you can chew. I wanted the diys I did to be executed really well, so i only did things I knew would turn out nicely. I also gave myself lots of time, and tried to focus on one project at a time. I’m sure your diys wil be fabulous, just keep at it, and try to to let anything stress you out. If its not fun, don’t do it. 😉
Heres a post of my DIY recap if you want to check it out.

@Treejewel19: pergatory? I love it!
I’m in bliss for now. The projects seem to keep me calm.

Bliss, but we haven’t done a whole lot of DIY at this point. I’m the first to admit that I’m not crafty so I have no problems stopping before I go crazy or the project goes downhill.
