FI is out of town, so I’m entertaining myself with wedding related things. Got out some pens last night and made a small sketch of how our invitations could look like (we’re having a nature, rustic, vintage theme I guess). Used some typical flowers from where we’ll have the wedding (also, the type of flowers I might have in my bouquet), but now I’m looking at it thinking that it’s all too colourful. What do you think, should I spend the time to make a proper drawing in colour or should I make it in… let’s say dark blue ink?
Or, should I just drop the idea completely and start from scratch?

@Sunnyday278: Thanks, that’s so sweet of you! I’ve always liked drawing, but never thought that I would actually do my own invitations. However, the more we’ve worked on the wedding – the more we’ve realised how important it is to make it feel like us. Making our invitations is totally in line with that, only that there’s so many different ways to do it! I tend to gravitate towards anything that’s stricter and monochromatic – so when this took form I got unsure.

Thank you all, you’ve really made my Sunday! Feel much more confident in the colours now, and as pointed out – it does make it more festive! Guess next step will be to get some proper pens and paper, make the real invitation and then find a place that can print them on nice cardstock. That is, if FI likes the idea as well! 🙂

Wow.That is insane that you drew that! I think it looks great. And it isn’t like there are 20 different colors that clash, it’s like 4 and they go together well. Gorgeous!

Wow. That is gorgeous. I love all the colorful flowers. My only suggestion is to try it out on a solid background just to see how that would look. Maybe a navy background would make those beautiful flower pop even more. I like it with the blue design too.
